Wednesday.... what happened to the day???

I got off of work, and Ryan and the girls met me at Jerry's in Jeffersonville for breakfast. Might I add that we love Jerry's for breakfast, then it was off to Walmart to get pull ups for Maddie, race home, Dawn shower, Ryan drop off your car. Off to New Albany by 9 for an errand. Dawn drops Ryan off at Maxx's house, then takes the girls to Save A Lot. Back home now... Bring in the groceries, put away the cold stuff. Put Maddie down for a nap, Kenzie and Mommy cuddle (with hopes of a short nap) NOPE NOT HAPPENING. Maddie is awake again... Ryan gets home shortly after and sends me downstairs to the toy room (we moved the mattress and boxspring there since it is cooler there yay) and I get a 3 hour nap while: RYAN DOES LAUNDRY AND TAKES THE KIDS TO THE PARK! Wow thanks a bunch! Kenzie had been wanting him to do that and he did! Then 8 pm comes and Ryan wakes me up with the fear that if I didn't wake up I wouldn't sleep tonight.... Well quite opposite, I would have slept all night, but now that he woke me up, it's ok, I have done homework for both classes and 4 loads of laundry... I have 2 hours now until Ryan has to be up for work, so I will stay up til then and then I will sleep from about 4 to 8 when kenzie gets up (sometimes 9), then have breakfast with the girls, and do some work around the house, then at 12 when Maddie takes her nap, Kenzie and I will too, so I will be ok on sleep for work tomorrow, but then I will not have to worry about the napping thing for 2 days because I don't go back for another night shift until Sunday. So in the mean time, Friday, we will drop the girls off to Mom so she can have them for the weekend, and that will allow for some down time and packing time for me.... I will also have some much needed scrapbooking time! Yay! I love scrapbooking.... Anyway, off to change out the laundry, and fold what Ryan did earlier...

Chocolate Brittle Surprise

Last night, knowing that my brother often has a sweet tooth at night, I made some Chocolate Brittle Surprise. Here is the recipe since I promised I would put it here for Candice: Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil. Then lightly spray with pan spray (like Pam). Line the cookie sheet with saltine crackers. Boil 1 cup butter and 3/4 cups of brown sugar for 3 minutes. cover the crackers with this butter/sugar mixture. Bake at 400 for 5 minutes. Then put 12 ounces of semisweet chocolate chips over that immediately after it comes out of the oven. as it melts spread the chocolate so it evenly coats the crackers. Chill the brittle in the refrigerator or freezer until hard. Crack like you would peanut brittle, then store in ziploc bags in the freezer. Yummy! Lots going on in the future.

I have joined up with a group of my friends and we are planning some get togethers. We will be doing play dates at each other's houses. We are hoping to be able to do a christmas party in december. i am also hoping that in the future we can have some mdo activities (mom's day out). in addition to this we are working on a recipe book to share our favorite recipes. we are also doing a babysitting swap starting soon so that we can just swap with one of the girls. I would watch April's two kids so she can have mommy time, and she would swap another night with me to watch my two kids. I think it will really work out well for all of us. Kenzie is starting to learn some sight words. She can already recognize the words I, A, and Can. I know it is only three words, but she is learning that is what matters most at this moment. I can't wait for her to learn more words as she progresses in Kindergarten. Maddie came up to me today and said, "MOMMY BATHROOM!" so ...
