Bedtime was a Breeze!!!

Hey, I told you I would post one more time tonight and add some more pics to the post when I did.

This was sent to me on Kenzie's first day at Spring Hill Elementary. She is sitting by the little boy. She is wearing the yellow shirt.

Maddie loves her jumper so much that one day, she got quiet so I went to check on her and this was what I found. I just couldn't leave her that way, I took the pic then took her and put her in her crib.

The remainder of our day went like this. We had dinner and Kenzie got out a game to play while I made some fondant roses. I told her at about 8:30 that when I got the last four done she would need to put on her jammies and go to bed, expecting a fight, she put her game up, and waited patiently for me to finish. She then asked if she could sleep in her bed with Pappy's light on. She usually doesn't want to sleep in her bed. She usually wants to sleep on the air mattress. We keep a special Lamp in her room for Pappy to use when he is in town. As I finished the last one, she walked quietly to her room, got out her jammies, put them on, and crawled in bed. She said "Mommy, I love you, Kisses please!" I gave her what she wanted, she then asked for water to put on the table like Pappy does. I gave her a fresh bottle of water from the fridge, she put it on the table and rolled over and "rested" her eyes. This is the term she uses for sleep. Maddie didn't even wake up when Kenzie went in there which was unexpected considering they share a room. I am so proud of our big girl! More to come later in the week.

The importance of connections

Many times, we don't take the opportunity in life to think about connections. Much like the way legos connect to erect the building or vehicle you are trying to create, without connecting pieces, our lives would fall apart. It's not often that we take time to reflect on those connections in meaningful ways. If I am honest, when we moved from Indiana back to Florida, we didn't appreciate the connections we had and so as I look back I wonder what life would have been like if we'd not only appreciated those connections, but supported them in meaningful ways.  Since moving to Greenville, not only have we made connections, but we've made it a part of life to connect with those people we've met that have become more like family than friends. We took the time to find a church that really believes in connecting with their people and not in a way that makes the patrons of the church feel like they are just a player in the game of chess and that player's job is to be

Workout #27

So, here's the challenge. And above, you can see my entry. Kenzie had done crosswords or circle a words (I can't remember) with Gigi and I snapped a pic of her doing it. I absolutely love the design of the sketch we were supposed to use for this lo. It allows for a simple, yet stunning layout. It allows room for journaling as you can see that I added as well as plenty of negative space! And the breakdown goes like this, picture was taken from my collection, background paper was from k and company the best of k and company pad, the circles were literally just picked out of my scrap box. I didn't even look at the papers, i just did a random pick. the lettering was taken from an old sheet of alphas i had and I think they worked out great!!! Simple yet Stunning! Thank you Scrap Fit for the challenge.
