My thoughts

So, I wanna share my thoughts on a subject that is thrown out there all the time.

JUDGEMENT.

From a worldy standpoint, we are all judged on a daily basis wether we know it or not.  People judge people anymore without even thinking.  She looks fat in that shirt, yep that's a judgement.  He's not parenting like I would.  That one too is a judgement.  We do it without realizing it most of the time anymore, but I want to challenge all of us.

For One day, pass NO judgement.  Why?  well because I am tired of those who I thought were close to me judging me because of many reasons.  I may not have as much money as they do. I may not have all the material posessions that they have.  I may not have the newer vehicles that they have.  I may not do things they way they would do them.  I may have beliefs that they don't have.  This doesn't mean that anyone should judge me.

Here's a passage from the BIBLE to shed some light on the subject:

“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.  Matthew 7:1-5

In other words, how about looking at yourself before you cast judgement on me.  I come into contact with people every day who think they are better than me, and therefore judge me.  I come into contact with people all the time who have a great paying job and don't want for anything, but I will assure you, MONEY ISN'T EVERYTHING.  Take this into consideration:  For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.  1 Timothy 6:10.  Due to your love of money, you really wanna judge me because I don't have money? I think not.  Let me assure you that WE MAY NOT HAVE A LOT BUT WHAT WE HAVE ARE BLESSINGS TO US.

Also, I would urge you to watch what you say and how you say it.  What you are thinking that you want to say to someone may come across to them as a judgemental statement.  While you are thinking it out of love, it might not come out that way.  For example, when someone asks for prayer, let's make it a point to PRAY for them not tell them all of the ways that they can do things right.  That is a judgement.  When we stand before the Father, HE will judge us.  We aren't called to judge one another, we are called to love one another as we love ourselves.

John 13:34-35

English Standard Version (ESV)
34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

And one last verse for you:

Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; 20 for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. 21 Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
 James 1:19-21

And know this, Jesus came, died, rose again so that we might have life and more abundantly.  He's here for you.  When you feel like you need to judge someone, give it to him.  He will take those cares away.

The importance of connections

Many times, we don't take the opportunity in life to think about connections. Much like the way legos connect to erect the building or vehicle you are trying to create, without connecting pieces, our lives would fall apart. It's not often that we take time to reflect on those connections in meaningful ways. If I am honest, when we moved from Indiana back to Florida, we didn't appreciate the connections we had and so as I look back I wonder what life would have been like if we'd not only appreciated those connections, but supported them in meaningful ways.  Since moving to Greenville, not only have we made connections, but we've made it a part of life to connect with those people we've met that have become more like family than friends. We took the time to find a church that really believes in connecting with their people and not in a way that makes the patrons of the church feel like they are just a player in the game of chess and that player's job is to be

Workout #27

So, here's the challenge. And above, you can see my entry. Kenzie had done crosswords or circle a words (I can't remember) with Gigi and I snapped a pic of her doing it. I absolutely love the design of the sketch we were supposed to use for this lo. It allows for a simple, yet stunning layout. It allows room for journaling as you can see that I added as well as plenty of negative space! And the breakdown goes like this, picture was taken from my collection, background paper was from k and company the best of k and company pad, the circles were literally just picked out of my scrap box. I didn't even look at the papers, i just did a random pick. the lettering was taken from an old sheet of alphas i had and I think they worked out great!!! Simple yet Stunning! Thank you Scrap Fit for the challenge.
