Run Run Rudolf!

That is what I felt like I did today. Ryan only worked until 12 because of the census. So when he got home, we decided we would finish the christmas shopping. We got Roy, Carol, Amanda, Deke, and I got some things for Ryan and Kenzie out of the way. I had to be way sneaky since Ryan and Kenzie were both with us. We got our hair cut. I now have a stacked bob. It is quite short! Wow. I didn't realize how much hair I had, but it can always grow back. I do like it this way, so I might opt to keep it pretty much like this though. Kenzie thought since Mommy was getting her hair cut, that she needed to do the same, so to appease her, I had them trim it up for her. She was so happy with the idea. Kenzie also picked out the presents for Ryan, Deke, Roy and Carol. I already knew what I was getting for Amanda. She did a great job too. We came home and wrapped presents. I then found out that I might have gotten a wrong size, so I will take the reciept with me and give it to the recepient if needed. Since we have already wrapped, I don't think I will unwrap it just to trade the thing out. If needed we can exchange it in Florida since I went to a store they have down there as well as we have up here. Kenzie also found a pair of High School Musical 2 Jammies for herself and Daddy said it was ok for her to get those. So now all I have to do is wrap a few things for Kenzie and Maddie. Then I have to wrap the things for Riley and Shelby when I get to Amanda's since we had Shelby's shipped there and Amanda picked up Riely's for me. We got turkey's at work today, so I will be giving those to Mom and Nana since we probably won't use two whole turkeys. We generally only do the turkey thing once a year. Now for the next week, it will be hectic packing and getting ready for our trip. I have to put together cheesy potatoes for work this weekend. I am baking a cake to take to work as well. Then I am baking a cake for Tina's little boy and Ryan will take that to work with him on either Thursday or Friday and then when Ryan gets off of work next Friday we are Florida bound. AAAAHHHH! The stress has begun. Hopefully I won't forget to have a good time! Talk to you all sooner or later!
Love,
Dawn

The importance of connections

Many times, we don't take the opportunity in life to think about connections. Much like the way legos connect to erect the building or vehicle you are trying to create, without connecting pieces, our lives would fall apart. It's not often that we take time to reflect on those connections in meaningful ways. If I am honest, when we moved from Indiana back to Florida, we didn't appreciate the connections we had and so as I look back I wonder what life would have been like if we'd not only appreciated those connections, but supported them in meaningful ways.  Since moving to Greenville, not only have we made connections, but we've made it a part of life to connect with those people we've met that have become more like family than friends. We took the time to find a church that really believes in connecting with their people and not in a way that makes the patrons of the church feel like they are just a player in the game of chess and that player's job is to be

Workout #27

So, here's the challenge. And above, you can see my entry. Kenzie had done crosswords or circle a words (I can't remember) with Gigi and I snapped a pic of her doing it. I absolutely love the design of the sketch we were supposed to use for this lo. It allows for a simple, yet stunning layout. It allows room for journaling as you can see that I added as well as plenty of negative space! And the breakdown goes like this, picture was taken from my collection, background paper was from k and company the best of k and company pad, the circles were literally just picked out of my scrap box. I didn't even look at the papers, i just did a random pick. the lettering was taken from an old sheet of alphas i had and I think they worked out great!!! Simple yet Stunning! Thank you Scrap Fit for the challenge.
