Really, I'M DOING THIS!

So, as many in my family can tell you, I've always said I wanted to go back to college, but never ACTED on it.  Well, I am here to say, I AM DOING THIS!  What proof do you have?  Well, none, but the government does!  I just finished my fafsa application and it's looking GOOD!  I can't wait.  So here's how it works:

Apply for Aide-- this takes longer, so if you want to go back to school, do yourself a favor and apply for aide before you apply for your college!

Order transcripts-- they will be ordered tomorrow come what may!  The copy is only $10, so that won't be a biggie.  They should be to me within 10 days, so I can run those in to the school.

Apply for college-- I'll need to pay a $25 application fee, but for me, it's worth it.  This will also be happening tomorrow!  WooHoo!

Things are getting done.  According to Pasco-Hernando Community College, I should be able to have it all done and start my classes come JANUARY!  WooHoo!

Next comes the PERT placement test.  Good news there is that when I pay my application fee, the school waives the testing fee!  That's a great thing right there!  My score on there will tell me if I am in need of taking remedial courses or not.  It's going to be a great thing!

After that, I will be attending a New Student Orientation just as soon as I can get signed up for one.  It's a 2 hour orientation at one of the campuses.  I will likely take Orientation at Spring Hill so I can do it while the kids are at school.

Following the Orientation, I will have a meeting with an Advisor to set up all of my classes.  I am PRAYING that I can get them all done in time to apply to the Nursing Program come January 2014!  If I can do that, then I'll be a Nurse in NO time flat!  This is going to be an amazing journey!

Now, let's say that I don't need any remedial courses, I would then be able to start my pre req's at PHCC.  I can take some of them online.  The ones I'll be doing from home are:

Science of Human Nurtrition
Intro to Psyc
Microcomputer Applications

Then I'll need to finish up the pre req's at the New Port Richey Campus.  Those classes are:

Human Anatomy and Physiology
Human Anatomy and Physiology Lab

With that said, I think this is the way to go.  I have looked at several different schools and programs in the last few weeks and really think that PHCC is going to be the best outcome for me.  It's going to be a tough road to go down, but I am so very ready for it!  I can't wait to get started.

Now, I want to thank everyone who is supportive of me for doing this. It's been a long time in the making and I just decided at the age of 31 it is time to get it done.  So, by the time I'm 35, I'll have a full time career and be able to really help provide for my family.  It will take some time to repay loans, but it's gotta be done.  I understand that more than anyone, so thank you in advance for all of your support to my friends and family.  I was the first to graduate highschool and I am the first to go back to and graduate college too!  I can't wait!  Life Long Learner I am!  Woo Hooooo!

I have tried a few times and failed to save this on my computer, so I'm going to try here. The importance of connections

Many times, we don't take the opportunity in life to think about connections. Much like the way legos connect to erect the building or vehicle you are trying to create, without connecting pieces, our lives would fall apart. It's not often that we take time to reflect on those connections in meaningful ways. If I am honest, when we moved from Indiana back to Florida, we didn't appreciate the connections we had and so as I look back I wonder what life would have been like if we'd not only appreciated those connections, but supported them in meaningful ways.  Since moving to Greenville, not only have we made connections, but we've made it a part of life to connect with those people we've met that have become more like family than friends. We took the time to find a church that really believes in connecting with their people and not in a way that makes the patrons of the church feel like they are just a player in the game of chess and that player's job is to be

Workout #27

So, here's the challenge. And above, you can see my entry. Kenzie had done crosswords or circle a words (I can't remember) with Gigi and I snapped a pic of her doing it. I absolutely love the design of the sketch we were supposed to use for this lo. It allows for a simple, yet stunning layout. It allows room for journaling as you can see that I added as well as plenty of negative space! And the breakdown goes like this, picture was taken from my collection, background paper was from k and company the best of k and company pad, the circles were literally just picked out of my scrap box. I didn't even look at the papers, i just did a random pick. the lettering was taken from an old sheet of alphas i had and I think they worked out great!!! Simple yet Stunning! Thank you Scrap Fit for the challenge.
