And She's Back in School!

Today was Kenzie's first day back to school! Yay! She got right up when I woke her at 6 and got ready for school. She even went through the house looking for her HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL hat to wear since it is soooo cold here. She was totally ready to go back. I really think she missed her friends at school and her teachers. She has had some progress with that movie I keep referring to that Amanda and Derrick gave her for christmas. She loves watching it and I notice as she watches it, she helps Tad learn the sounds of the letters as he goes through the factory. I really think this might be her new favorite movie. She has tons of movies, but the only one she wants to watch is the letter factory one. She even asked me last night before bed if she could watch it after school today! Great gift Idea! Thanks a billion. Maddie is loving all of Kenzie's toys she doesn't really play with anymore. So needless to say, she is a happy child this morning. She slept all night. Yay! When she was ready to get up this morning I heard a whimper and then "knock knock" she was knocking on her door to let me know she was ready for the day! How cute is that? Ryan is doing well with work. He will find out sometime this week about the new position if he gets it or not. I sure do hope he gets it. It would be nice for him to work only 3 days a week. He would still have full time hours though. And with him working three days a week, that would allow me to pick up a day or two extra! And I love that idea. I am looking at a few appliances. I need to get a new stove and dishwasher. I want a front loader washer/dryer. I also want a built in microwave. Ideally I would have the island with cooktop and a wall oven/microwave combo like Amanda has, but again that is a dream right now. I guess that tops off the list for now.

Love,
Dawn

The importance of connections

Many times, we don't take the opportunity in life to think about connections. Much like the way legos connect to erect the building or vehicle you are trying to create, without connecting pieces, our lives would fall apart. It's not often that we take time to reflect on those connections in meaningful ways. If I am honest, when we moved from Indiana back to Florida, we didn't appreciate the connections we had and so as I look back I wonder what life would have been like if we'd not only appreciated those connections, but supported them in meaningful ways.  Since moving to Greenville, not only have we made connections, but we've made it a part of life to connect with those people we've met that have become more like family than friends. We took the time to find a church that really believes in connecting with their people and not in a way that makes the patrons of the church feel like they are just a player in the game of chess and that player's job is to be

I have tried a few times and failed to save this on my computer, so I'm going to try here. Workout #27

So, here's the challenge. And above, you can see my entry. Kenzie had done crosswords or circle a words (I can't remember) with Gigi and I snapped a pic of her doing it. I absolutely love the design of the sketch we were supposed to use for this lo. It allows for a simple, yet stunning layout. It allows room for journaling as you can see that I added as well as plenty of negative space! And the breakdown goes like this, picture was taken from my collection, background paper was from k and company the best of k and company pad, the circles were literally just picked out of my scrap box. I didn't even look at the papers, i just did a random pick. the lettering was taken from an old sheet of alphas i had and I think they worked out great!!! Simple yet Stunning! Thank you Scrap Fit for the challenge.
