Our week.

We took the girls to Lanesville Heritage Weekend in Lanesville, Indiana on Friday night. I got a few pics. Kenzie had so much fun and she surprised me! She go on the tilt a wirl with me. Then I rode the Carousel with her and Ryan rode with Maddie. Then we split up. I took Maddie in her Stroller with Mom and Pop and Ryan took Kenzie for another ride. After they got back with us, I learned that she rode the SCRAMBLER! Ryan said she loved it! He said she was laughing and having so much fun that she pee'd everwhere! I couldn't get upset with her because it was a true accident, but she was so upset about it that we left and came on home. She told me "Mommy, I ride with daddy, I laugh, I pee, Daddy run out of tickets!" It was so cute that she could put it all together like that. So now on to the pics...

I tried taking several pics of them on the Carousel, but htis is the only one that came out. I thought it would work. She really didn't care about it. She was just like "OK, I am going around in circles. What is so cool about that!" We wore Maddie out to the extent that while we were walking through the booths toward the car, she fell asleep in the stroller! I couldn't believe how angelic she looked! Just kidding. She is just so sweet, and I felt bad that she was sleeping sitting up like that! Cutie.

In other news, Saturday was Maddie's 16 month birthda! She is growing so fast. She is trying to say several words. She is into everything. She wants to skip her naps. Play, Play, Play is what is on hermind. She has figured out how to take her pants off and tries to help put her feet in to put them on. She is trying to figure out how to take her shirt off. She is also doing a great job with feeding herself. She doesn't quite have the spoon down to pat yet, but it will come with time. I guess that is about it for Maddie.

Nothing much else going on. Talk to you soon!

Love, Dawn

The importance of connections

Many times, we don't take the opportunity in life to think about connections. Much like the way legos connect to erect the building or vehicle you are trying to create, without connecting pieces, our lives would fall apart. It's not often that we take time to reflect on those connections in meaningful ways. If I am honest, when we moved from Indiana back to Florida, we didn't appreciate the connections we had and so as I look back I wonder what life would have been like if we'd not only appreciated those connections, but supported them in meaningful ways.  Since moving to Greenville, not only have we made connections, but we've made it a part of life to connect with those people we've met that have become more like family than friends. We took the time to find a church that really believes in connecting with their people and not in a way that makes the patrons of the church feel like they are just a player in the game of chess and that player's job is to be

Workout #27

So, here's the challenge. And above, you can see my entry. Kenzie had done crosswords or circle a words (I can't remember) with Gigi and I snapped a pic of her doing it. I absolutely love the design of the sketch we were supposed to use for this lo. It allows for a simple, yet stunning layout. It allows room for journaling as you can see that I added as well as plenty of negative space! And the breakdown goes like this, picture was taken from my collection, background paper was from k and company the best of k and company pad, the circles were literally just picked out of my scrap box. I didn't even look at the papers, i just did a random pick. the lettering was taken from an old sheet of alphas i had and I think they worked out great!!! Simple yet Stunning! Thank you Scrap Fit for the challenge.
