school

So, I have a phone appoint with the advisor on Weds. I can't wait. I am also excited because I only have 2.5 years left on the degree! Whoot! By the time I get my degree, Maddie will be heading to Kindergarten and Ryan and I can start working the same hours! It will be wierd, but worth it! Also, I am in the just past the 1/2 way point for my current class. It isn't really as bad as I thought it would be. I am taking in a lot of information and finding that I already knew a lot about this class and didn't even realize it. I will be taking Business Math next term. Candy already took it and if the book is still the same, she is letting me borrow it so there won't be an extra cost of a book. That is great. To top it off, she says it is a pretty easy class. I can't wait. After I get done with this term, I only have 7 classes remaining for my core classes, then all that is left is electives. I chose to take the core classes first so that I wasn't waiting for them to come around again towards the end of my degree. I will keep everyone posted as I get closer to graduation. It will feel so good to have my degree. Let me tell ya! I can't believe that I will be the first of me and my brothers to have graduated from college! I already have a good job, I am just looking for more advancement opportunities, therefore, I have taken on a challenge, and it is totally worth it! Hope all is well in Indiana as they are getting the power back on and things are getting back to normal. Maddie hasn't been feeling well. She is getting a cold. Coughing a lot and a clear runny nose. She isn't running a temp though, so that is good. Kenzie is starting to see that Daddy is working and it won't change, so we are getting to implement some changes in the house here. HOUSE RULES! I have never been one to be really strict on my kids, but I am finding that I have to start doing this if there is ever going to be a less chaotic environment for them. They are doing well with it for now.... And that is that. More to come later!

The importance of connections

Many times, we don't take the opportunity in life to think about connections. Much like the way legos connect to erect the building or vehicle you are trying to create, without connecting pieces, our lives would fall apart. It's not often that we take time to reflect on those connections in meaningful ways. If I am honest, when we moved from Indiana back to Florida, we didn't appreciate the connections we had and so as I look back I wonder what life would have been like if we'd not only appreciated those connections, but supported them in meaningful ways.  Since moving to Greenville, not only have we made connections, but we've made it a part of life to connect with those people we've met that have become more like family than friends. We took the time to find a church that really believes in connecting with their people and not in a way that makes the patrons of the church feel like they are just a player in the game of chess and that player's job is to be

Workout #27

So, here's the challenge. And above, you can see my entry. Kenzie had done crosswords or circle a words (I can't remember) with Gigi and I snapped a pic of her doing it. I absolutely love the design of the sketch we were supposed to use for this lo. It allows for a simple, yet stunning layout. It allows room for journaling as you can see that I added as well as plenty of negative space! And the breakdown goes like this, picture was taken from my collection, background paper was from k and company the best of k and company pad, the circles were literally just picked out of my scrap box. I didn't even look at the papers, i just did a random pick. the lettering was taken from an old sheet of alphas i had and I think they worked out great!!! Simple yet Stunning! Thank you Scrap Fit for the challenge.
