Orientation!

On Friday night, Steve (my hr person) called. Here is the conversation as best as I can remember.

"Hello"
"Hi Dawn, it's Steve"
"What do you want" (very sarcastic)
"I need you to come to work tonight. I need your help really bad."
"I can't"
"No, really I need to put a brand new cna with you for orientation. She is so new that she is green. Would that be ok?"
"Sure"

So then I get to work all weekend and no orient for me. On Sunday, I find the girl and eventually she made it over to work with me since she was about to leave and never come back. So, when she was with me, she said she had learned more in the 3 hours than she had all weekend on the other unit. She said that Saturday's orientation was a little better than the girl who had her on Sunday. Anyway, I felt like I saved her from leaving us and I sure do hope that she stays because we need more people like Cathy who are willing to work, they just need to be taught what is supposed to happen at certain times. She was waiting around for Steve to get back to the facility (for another insurance meeting) to talk to him about the whole thing. Hopefully everything turns out ok. Anyway, I gotta go wait for Kenzie to get off the bus. I will blog later for today just wanted to catch everyone up on us.
Love,
Dawn

MEMORY FULL....

So,after not falling asleep until well after 2am this morning, I got up at 8, and got the kids ready, packed the van and we were off to Mom's for Maddie's party.... So, I made sure I didn't forget my camera. That was a major thing... so, we get there and the castle jump was already there. The girls went and got in it right away, I started taking pics. After just 5 pictures, a screen says, Memory Full. I had forgotten my memory card. And since I had to go to walmart for mom anyway, I got a disposable camera to do the party with. So, no pics til I get them developed and then I have to scan them to the desktop so I can then download them here... Long process but you will like the pics (i think). Anyway, I am off. TTYL! Dawn

Workout #27

So, here's the challenge. And above, you can see my entry. Kenzie had done crosswords or circle a words (I can't remember) with Gigi and I snapped a pic of her doing it. I absolutely love the design of the sketch we were supposed to use for this lo. It allows for a simple, yet stunning layout. It allows room for journaling as you can see that I added as well as plenty of negative space! And the breakdown goes like this, picture was taken from my collection, background paper was from k and company the best of k and company pad, the circles were literally just picked out of my scrap box. I didn't even look at the papers, i just did a random pick. the lettering was taken from an old sheet of alphas i had and I think they worked out great!!! Simple yet Stunning! Thank you Scrap Fit for the challenge.
